Outdoor Fireplace Designs

There are many different outdoor fireplace designs to choose from if you are interested in having those nice cozy nights outside with your loved one just relaxing, or if you are having a barbeque late at night or just hanging out with some friends.  Before you go and purchase one, please keep safety in mind when choosing which style best suits your needs.  Not all outdoor fireplaces are safe for your specific situation, so please keep this in mind before making your purchase.

Outdoor fireplace designs come in 2 different styles, fire pits and chimineas.  As you can probably tell by their names alone, a fire pit is basically a circular pit in which the fire burns.  And with the chiminea, the name kind of gives it away, its basically like a smaller fireplace that actually has a chimney on it that will promote fire fueling with the air that it intakes.  Depending on what features you are looking for, the chiminea design will keep any smoke or fumes away from you and your friends or family, and will also protect everyone if huge gusts of wind come through.  Now, with an open fit fireplace, this is not the case.  Smoke and fumes will be all over the place depending on the wind, and if a huge gust of wind comes through and you are near one of these, you can possibly be burnt and injured.

With whatever model you choose to go with, please keep safety in mind at all times.  I would recommend that you always have a full fire extinguisher near the fireplace at all times, and also a full bucket of water just in case things get out of hand or you need it in case of an emergency.  I am not trying to scare you or make you nervous, buying either one of these models is a great addition to anyone’s backyard and will provide you and your family with a nice, warm, cozy environment.
